Welcome to the “How to Feel Amazing” Experience!

This series started out of a desire to give people the tools to help them feel amazing—physically, emotionally, mentally & spiritually.
I do not claim to be an expert or guru.
I do not claim that each one of these things will instantly make you feel amazing.
What I will share with you is the years of education and experience I’ve had that have helped me go from feeling exhausted all the time, being hypoglycemic and trying to decide which of the 5 different ways I thought of to end my life to someone who has consistent energy and loves her life.
The things I’ll share will be simple—but not always easy.
And, while each of these things alone may not make much of a difference, when you stack or compound them, you will begin to see that you will start feeling amazing.
We’re going to start with how we fuel the physical body.
“Let food be your medicine and medicine to by thy food” Hippocrates.
As a health coaching & natural food chef, I am saying something I never thought I’d say….food, in many ways can be the least important in feeling amazing, but… I want to start here because it is where my journey began, and I realized that when I was fueling my body with foods that nourished me, I was able to have a greater understanding of deeper things that created my health.
When we think about our vehicles, we’d never pull up to our local dog park and pick up the crap from the dogs and put it in our tank, or sand from a playground…we know that that is not proper fuel for our car.
Long before the industrial era, we used to eat things that came from the earth.
Whether it was plants or animals, the food we consumed was actually filled with nutrients that were grown from the soil, water, and sun.
Somewhere along the way eating has become complicated.
Food scientists create flavors so that we crave them.
We are told that we “NEED” certain drinks or food.
We started eating “food like products” that were made in factories and never experienced, soil, water, and sun.
To quote Michael Pollan “(Omnivores Dilemma, Food Rules” etc…) “it’s gotten to the point where we don’t see foods anymore but instead look right through them to the nutrients (good and bad) they contain….”
Here are 2 things we need to know about food:
1. Cultures that eat what is called a “Western Diet”—aka, a standard American diet (SAD) —lots of processed foods, factory farmed meat, added sugars, lots of refined grains….lots of things that come in boxes and bags that SCREAM at us to tell us how good for us it is (and somehow we “buy” it….but we never would if it was a man/woman who came up to us at a bar and told us how great they would be for us)—these cultures experience Western diseases—obesity, type-2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and cancer.
2. Populations eating real, whole foods (meaning, not processed, man-made foods) did not experience these diseases.
We are literally eating ourselves into feeling like sh*t—physically, emotionally, mentally & spiritually.
So, for today….I want to invite you to notice what you are eating and ask yourself—did this ever get touched, by soil, water, and sun?
Or was this made in a factory, that, if we suddenly lost all forms of technology, this would not be in existence anymore?
Simple right? But not always easy, I get it….we’ll continue to talk about how to use food to help us feel amazing for now just start with today’s tip:
Today’s Tip: Feeling amazing starts with awareness….being aware of what we put into our bodies is one of the 1st steps.
